Supporting Comprehension Booklet 2 (ELI Series)

In this booklet, the reader is introduced to the ideas for supporting reading comprehension within classrooms. The first brief describes various ways to support children in building vocabulary. The second brief has been divided in two parts. The first part covers "how"s and "why"s of comprehension strategies, and discusses four key comprehension strategies, and demonstrates the planning and conducting of "think-aloud"; which is another strategy that can be used in comprehension. The last brief explains the importance of teaching students to ask good questions; another strategy helpful for comprehension.
